Guess Who's Coming to Dinner

AUDIO ONLY

SUMMARY

Jesus was often asked to the homes of tax collectors, Pharisees, and others to dine and talk. Sometimes the Pharisees thought Jesus chose poor dining companions and would complain that he was eating with “sinners”.

In the passage we are looking at today, Jesus says to the Pharisees, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” So today we are going to do that – go and learn what this means.

“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” — Matthew 9:12-13
