SUMMARY
I personally think one of the most intriguing relationships in the Bible is the one between John the Baptist and Jesus.
There is actually quite a bit which we are told in the Gospels about this relationship, and there is an enormous amount we are told between the lines where John and his disciples express reverence for Jesus, confusion about Jesus, even disapproval of Jesus.
On the part of Jesus he expresses tremendous respect for John, but sees him as part of the past, part of the old way, and though John might be the greatest of the prophets, he is still less than the least in the kingdom of heaven. A striking thought, isn’t it?
