The Gospel of Matthew, Part 28

Asking, Trusting, Living

Today we are looking at what Jesus has to say about asking, trusting and living. Asking God, trusting God, and living God’s will.

The passage we are looking at in Matthew is one which is often misquoted as a kind of “promise for prosperity” by some who teach that the only reason we don’t have physical wealth and prosperity is because we don’t ask. However, like any relationship, it is deeper than that.

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! — Matthew 7:11
