SUMMARY
In his fulfillment of the Law Jesus is not abolishing or setting aside the Law, but rather, in him, the perfect fulfillment of the Law is met. When we embrace Jesus Christ as our Lord and his fulfillment of the Law we are then credited for the keeping of the whole Law, including the wrath for our sin, and are seen as perfect. This is the step of faith. It is by faith that we believe the scripture when it says that by confessing and repenting of our sins, submitting to Jesus as Lord, and trusting that his sacrifice is also our sacrifice, that we are saved. We are “born again”. We are a new creation in Christ. This takes faith.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
