The Gospel of Matthew, Part 38
A Touch of Hope

SUMMARY
One of the stories found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke is one which is uniquely feminine. It is feminine in that the character involved is a woman, which is not unusual in the Bible, but it deals with a topic which was seen as taboo in the time of Christ and is even one which many of us would find uncomfortable to talk about even today. It is a story which is told in its most brief form in the Gospel of Matthew, but I am going to bring in the other Gospel accounts to get a wider picture.
20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
