The Book of Romans, Part 26
Have you ever noticed that, depending on the situation, our identity is very much defined by who we belong to? When my children were small, to other children I was Nala and Xavier’s Daddy. I belong to them. When I visit Cindy’s work I am Cindy’s husband, belonging to her. When someone from the church introduces me to a friend it is usually as their pastor meaning I belonging to them or the church body. It’s nice to belong. I believe that God created us to want to belong to a community of some sort, a community of family, of friends, of faith. And if you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you have been adopted into the family of God.
16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
