The Book of Romans, Part 30

Riding the Wave of Destiny

One of the big areas of debate and discussion among Christians is the discussion over predestination and freewill. I still wrestle with this and probably always will. As a creature of time, it is very hard for me to truly understand God who, as the creator of time, is outside of the liner stream of time. However, a destiny which is made clear in the Bible is the destiny of the Christ, the Messiah. I believe that most of what the Bible talks about as destiny relates back to Christ. This is something you see emphasized in the letters of Paul.

What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory – even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?
– Romans 9:23 – 24
