SUMMARY

The perspective of the world says that suffering is proof of a cruel God or that there is no God at all. The Jubilee perspective of a life changed by Christ is that suffering (or pressure as the word actually is) will produce in us a better person. The coal of our lives will be squeezed into diamonds. This isn’t to say we should all run out and do a bunch of stupid things which will make our lives miserable, what life has to bring on its own will do. Embrace it and allow God use suffering to build a stronger woman or man.

3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.  5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
