Advent 2017

Most of the time when we think about the reason Christ came, we think of the issue of salvation. That God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. This is a foundational truth of the faith, but if we were to only see the reason the Messiah, the Christ, came was to provide fire insurance, then we would be missing a large portion of Christ’s mission. We would be missing it because salvation means more than just a ticket to heaven, salvation means that your life and the life of God has been brought back into a relationship of love, trust and shared purpose. This week we will look at some reasons why the Word became flesh, or the “incarnation” and dwelt among us.
