One of the things about hope, which I am sure you have heard, is that Biblical hope is more than wishful thinking instead it is an expectation. This is an important difference. For hope to be hope it must involve a process, or a journey, to a looked forward to destination. You cannot have hope for something already realized. I think this is one reason that Jesus was born as a baby. Christ could have come as a fully grown man, but instead he chose to come as a baby, partially to illustrate to us the journey of hope.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
