16 Sep: Joy

For about six years we lived in Tyler, Texas. Although there were many, our best memory was the backyard swing. The previous owners had left a swing on the old oak tree that stood tall and strong in the middle of the yard. Ropes came down from at least twenty feet above, tied securely to a thick limb that reached out at a ninety degree angle like a steel beam of a building.


07 Sep: Unconditional Love

It should not surprise us that someone who studied sight could see so clearly. What we want is love. We just don’t know how to find it. The message we receive from birth is that love is conditional. We find it through a variety of ways: performance will get you noticed on the job, personality will get you accepted by the group

We live in an anxious society built off of creating anxiety. You need only watch recent political campaigning to observe it. If you didn’t know you needed to worry about Ebola or the border you do now. Or take in a few commercials. Until that hair growth commercial began showing you were unaware that your bald spot was.
