Easter 2020

Strange Times, Strange Places, Same God

AUDIO ONLY

SUMMARY

I have never spent an Easter Sunday like this, in a mostly empty sanctuary staring into a camera trying to look “normal”.

It reminds me a bit of the very first days after the resurrection when the disciples were still very confused about all that had happened. They had heard from Mary Magdalen that Jesus was alive, Peter and John went to check out her story and found an empty tomb, and yet, in spite of all this testimony and witness, they were still living in fear. But he have not been given the Spirit of fear, but the Spirit of sonship. A Spirit who is confident in the Father.

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”
