False teachings and teachers are even more prevalent today than they were back in the time of John. Misteaching Jesus has led, literally, to the physical and spiritual deaths of millions of people. Did you know Jesus is named directly and indirectly far more often in the Quran than Muhammed? Yet what is taught about him in the Quran is false. Mormonism is officially called “The Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints” yet what is taught about the personhood of Jesus is completely unbiblical. Jehovah’s Witnesses claim to teach Christ but teach a false Christ. In all these faiths the essential thing they deny is the divinity of Jesus Christ.
