Today we are looking at the question asked by the Sadducees. One of the main differences the Sadducees had with the Pharisees is they only held the first five books of the Old Testament, called the Pentateuch, as sacred scripture. If a concept was not in the Pentateuch, then they did not believe it as a “truth” of Judaism. This put them at odds with almost every other Jewish sect, including the Pharisees. One of the main sources of contention was the idea of the resurrection of the dead.
