Awana is an international children’s ministry which is non-denominational in nature and whose mission it is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. Founded 1950 it has seen explosive growth, now reaching 12,000 churches.
The name Awana is an acronym that is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. From this we get:

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed = AWANA

Awana clubs invite your children from three years old (Kindergarten) through Elementary to join us weekly on Sundays from 1:15 – 3:00 p.m., September through May.

Our Awana meetings are broken into three primary components:

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed = AWANA

Handbook Time

Each clubber will receive a handbook to work from and during handbook time, your child will work from his book with one-on-one assistance from a leader, learning lessons from the Bible, and memorizing verses.

Game Time

Game time provides an opportunity for the clubbers to exercise their bodies and have some fun playing a variety of Awana games.

Counsel Time

During counsel time, a Bible lesson or story is presented to the entire group and questions are answered.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth

— 2 Timothy 2:15

Whether you are a member or guest of IBCD, a member of another church, or not a member of any church, your children are invited to Awana here. Our club is open to all children!
