“…Lord, save me. Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him…” –Matthew 14:30b-31a
Here’s an example of another storm. This time Jesus was nowhere to be seen. Well, not at first anyway. Then he was walking on water and asked Peter to have the faith to walk to him. I often wonder when Peter started to sink, Jesus rescued him but how did they both get back to the boat? Did they swim together? Did Jesus carry Peter which he himself walked? Did the other disciples throw them a lifeline? It actually doesn’t matter and we don’t know the answer but what we do know is in this instance and the one where Jesus was sleeping, He showed up. And so it is in our lives. He shows up, he calms the storm.
