The Book of Romans, Part 29

Children of Promise

AUDIO ONLY

SUMMARY

As we continue in the book of Romans, we have seen that one of the central themes is how a person who is a follower of Christ has their whole world redefined. Last week we talked about the redefinition of what “victory” in Christ really means, but in other passages we have looked at what it means to be redefined as a child of God’s grace instead of a child of God’s wrath, we have talked about the redefinition of hope and expectation we have a believers as opposed to the worldly definitions, we even looked at the expectation that all of creation will one day be “redefined” and made new by Christ.

Today the Apostle Paul get into the fact even what it means to be “Israel” is redefined by Christ and in this we see a glimpse into the heart of the apostle Paul.

In other words, it is not the natural children who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.
